Well, where to start.... Back in 2012 I was charged and convicted with a DWI in Wisconsin resulting in the loss of my driving privileges. I moved to NC after that and life continued until one day I was able to reinstate my driving privileges on the grounds that I completed a drug and alcohol assessment and the required class hours. I looked around for someone who was able to complete these requirements and soon saw Ms. Smith's page on a psychology website. I gave her a call and she said that she was qualified to give me a D&A assessment so we set up an appointment. I went to her home at Knoll Drive and she took me through all the procedures in about an hour and half. She then referred me to Mrs. Stephanie Almeida at full circle which was conveniently right down the road. Upon meeting Mrs. Almeida she was astounded that Karen was even able to do a D&A assessment seeing as how only Stephanie and another institution were the only ones certified to complete D&A assessments in the county. She was also surprised that Karen charged me $250 for the assessment when the state maximum for NC is only $100. Stephanie advised I keep quiet until everything was over because Karen had all my paperwork and she needed documents from her. Mrs. Almeida definitely gave me a scolding for not coming to see her first though. Haha. Anyway, I completed my classwork and Karen told me I had to come see her once again for a follow up and to send hard copies to Wisconsin for me. I later found out this was a lie. I wasted $75 dollars on that follow up as well as overpaying $150 for a D&A assessment from her. Now I don't doubt Ms. Smith's abilities as a drug and substance abuse counselor because, despite that nasty attitude she has, she maintained her professionalism during our interactions. But, I do doubt her understanding of business ethics due to the fact that she overcharged me a total of $225 dollars for something so simple and when confronted about her overcharge she stated that it was because it was out of state. I tried to explain to her that we are not in Wisconsin and that she has to operate under the rules of NC but she didn't agree with me. Unfortuantely, I would have to say that I do not recommend her to anyone and I would seriously advise that you go see Mrs. Stephanie Almeida at Full Circle Recovery if you need assistance in this area. DO NOT make the same mistake I did.
