Lousy Food and Lazy Staff!!! We arrived on Father's day and there was no one manning the Host/Hostess station. Several staff members were talking amoungst themselves in the bar area. After waiting for about 10 minutes I finally walked over and asked the staff if the restaurant was Sest Yourself or did they employ a Host at lunch time or just evenings. I was told there was a Host and to wait there. We waited another 5 minutes and headed for the door.He stated they were short handed and he was busy bussing tables. We waited quite a while for the waitress to take our orders and then for the bread as well. Our appetizer took 15 minutes (kettle chips) and they were very overcooked, burned and greasy. The kitchen staff delivered it and not our server. We drank our beverages while we waited for our meals and needed a refill but our server and all of the other servers were too busy socializing with each other.The staff were obviously too busy with thier party to provide service to patrons. The food was not worth the money at all. If I had purchased it in a store I would have returned it for my money back. I tried the steak frites salad. My steak was overcooked. The vegtables were limp and there was too much dressing. I have had nicer sdalads at McDonalds. My husband tried the buffalo mac n cheese. It was not macaroni and cheese at all. Even the most rudimentary cook can manage to make a rue and a proper macaroni and cheese. He said it was terrible. It was his special Father's day treat ruined. What we expected was a baked macaroni and cheese with buffalo chicken added. The women's restroom was dirty with an overflowing waste bin. The papertowels were actually onto the floor and in order to dry your hands you had to reach across the trash to get the paper towels. The overall impression we got was the hosts are too busy clearing tables to greet customers. It is clear that today's cook is not skilled. The waitstaff were having a grand time. I left less than 15% when we normally leave 22-25%. I considered leaving nothing because I was so annoyed at watching our waitress and her friends carry on instead of making sure we were satisfied. I would have asked for the manager but as he was right there with the staff behaving as one of them it is quite clear there was no one in charge who could have made our experience any better.

I had gastronomia explosion (in the bathroom) after going to John Harvards restaurant in Framingham...I gave the restaurant the benefit of doubt by going back 4 times with terrible... greasy foods and horrible home brew swill that will give anyone a headache...you have to drink it because they only serve it (yuch!!!)...Do not waste your time or money in my opinion...very friendly staff some of the time...you have been warned...

Come for the brew, stay for the food! John Harvards has awesome food and the best part is the homemade beer they brew in the restaurant. They have several different types of beer available, be it pale ale, lage etc. I really enjoyed eating here. The service was great! food was awesome and most importantly...The beer was great!
