Dr. Melissa received her Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic Florida, where she was chosen as a Clinic Teaching Assistant and as a participant in the Clinic Abroad program. While practicing abroad she was able to provide chiropractic care to hundreds of underprivileged children in the islands of Fiji, cementing her interest in pediatric and perinatal care. She is knowledgeable in various chiropractic adjusting techniques, from gentle manual and instrument adjustments, to more traditional forms of joint manipulation. In addition to chiropractic adjustments, she is proficient in soft tissue techniques that help alleviate symptoms related to dysfunction in the extremities and TMJ. She is a certified FAKTR provider, and frequently applies concepts from active release, myofascial work, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic taping during her treatment sessions to help her patients feel better sooner. She is passionate about providing chiropractic care for people of all ages and backgrounds. One of her main areas of expertise is providing chiropractic care for expectant mothers, to help relieve them of pain, discomfort, and other symptoms that might be present during pregnancy. She is certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association as a Webster Technique practitioner — a technique utilized to optimize the alignment of the pelvic structures to decrease hip and low back discomfort, as well as increase the likelihood of a positive birth outcome. When she is not seeing patients at her Framingham office, she uses her skills and experience to provide care to various outside groups and interests. She provides sideline care for athletes at sporting events as part of the medical team, and volunteers her time at various charity races throughout New England. She is also a constant presence at entertainment venues, where she has the opportunity to work backstage with some of the top names in the business when they perform in the Boston area
