Our designs, rooted firmly in a detailed understanding of our client's needs, are developed with a methodology in which we tailor our services and designs to the needs of the individual project, within required time schedules and at the prescribed budget.DMS Architects, Inc was established in 1981 and is the result of the merger of two former firms, Hueppelsheuser Darrow, Inc and Sellars McSpedden. Predecessor firms were originally established in 1953 and have been in continuous practice since that date. Raymond Darrow, John King and Stephen Darrow are principals in the Fort Worth office. At the beginning of 2003, Gene Sellars retired from practice and the firm consolidated the San Angelo into the Fort Worth Office. Mr. Sellars remains a consultant to DMS Architects in the San Angelo area.DMS Architects, Inc has the capability of producing and managing in excess of $ 60 million dollars worth of projects annually. Individual past projects have ranged in size from less than $ 100, 000 to over $ 20 million in construction cost.DMS Architects, Inc has assembled a strong team of highly trained architects and quality engineering consultants that as a group can offer our clients the finest in professional services, from initial planning through construction administration. The DMS team is known for innovative, cost effective solutions in new construction and renovation/ retrofit projects.For each building a Project Architect is assigned to assure design discipline continuity from initial programming through construction completion. Throughout the process, the Project Architect is assisted by personnel that have expertise in the various phases of the project. Overseeing the entire project development is the Principal in Charge. His interaction with the project team assures that our high standards are met. This very successful design approach ensures that program requirements and project cost parameters are maintained throughout all stages of the project.This intentionally deliberate methodology has resulted in successful project delivery for more than 180 school facilities costing in excess of $400 million dollars for 46 different school districts, colleges, and universities.Our user oriented approach to design produces imaginative, aesthetic solutions of functionally planned facilities that respond directly to the client's individual project requirements. We pride ourselves on awareness of and attention to budget restraints, utilizing our considerable skills on new as well as renovation/ retrofit projects.
