- Medical Weight LossWhen the narrowing advances, this can lead to rest pain which is pain without any activity. With continued progression of the disease, the tissues cannot get enough blood which leads to non-healing wounds and tissue loss. Involvement of the arteries to the kidneys can lead to uncontrolled high blood pressure and decreased kidney function. Disease in the blood vessels to the stomach and bowel can lead to pain after eating which can lead to food avoidance and excessive weight loss. Disease in the vessels of the neck can lead to strokes.
- Pediatric CareLocated at 7900 W Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 104 in Fort Wayne, our full team of radiologists are board certified by the American College of Radiology, some with additional years of fellowship training in an imaging subdiscipline—these subdisciplines include, but are not limited to musculoskeletal, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, pediatrics and nuclear medicine. We are partnered with Synergy Radiology, LLC to provide evening and overnight subspecialty coverage.
- Emergency CareWhen you receive emergency care at an out-of-network facility or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, the laws protect you from surprise or balance billing.

- UltrasoundUltrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. Ultrasound imaging, also called sonography, produces images of the inside of the body using sound waves using a small transducer (probe) and ultrasound gel placed directly on the skin. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the probe through the gel into the body. The transducer collects the sounds that bounce back and a computer then uses those sound waves to create an image. Ultrasound examinations do not use ionizing radiation (as used in x-rays), thus there is no radiation exposure to the patient. Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.
- MRIA vertebral compression fracture is a break in one or more of the bones (vertebrae) in the spine which causes the bone to collapse. Vertebral compression fractures are more common than hip fractures, and can occur after a fall or other trauma. Sometimes they occur after minimal trauma or simply with a change in body position. They are especially common in patients with osteoporosis or demineralized/weak bones. The most common symptoms of a compression fracture is abrupt onset of back pain, which can persist for weeks or months. The pain may be severe enough that patients are unable to walk or care for themselves. Vertebral fractures can be diagnosed by an interventional radiologist with the use of imaging such as an MRI or Bone Scan.
- RadiologySynergy Radiology is owned and operated by radiologists. We fully understand the challenges of growing a successful, independent radiology practice. That’s why we created a teleradiology service designed to enhance your success.
- X-Rays
- Nuclear MedicineThe most common uses for nuclear medicine exams include evaluation of kidney and thyroid function, visualization of heart blood flow and function, blood flow and respiration abnormalities of the lungs, gallbladder diseases, boney pathology (fractures, infections, arthritis, and tumors), brain abnormalities, and localization of lymph nodes prior to surgery.
- MammographyWith 2D screening mammography, two X-rays are taken of each breast from opposing angles—one top-to-bottom, and one side-to-side. The breast is pulled away from the body, compressed, and held between two plates to ensure that the whole breast can be examined in the screening process.
- Computed TomographyComputed tomography, more commonly known as a CT or CAT scan, is a diagnostic medical test that, like traditional x-rays, produces multiple images or pictures of the inside of the body. The cross-sectional images generated during a CT scan can be reformatted in multiple planes, and can even be used to generate three-dimensional images. CT images of internal organs, bones, soft tissue, and blood vessels typically provide greater detail than traditional x-rays, particularly of soft tissues and blood vessels. Using specialized equipment and expertise to create and interpret CT scans of the body, radiologists can more easily diagnose problems such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, appendicitis, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. CT is a preferred exam for many providers because it is fast, painless, noninvasive, and accurate.
- ChemotherapyWe currently use two image guided minimally invasive treatment options for liver cancer. These are called radioembolization and chemoembolization. Both technologies rely on the unique blood supply to the liver. The liver is primarily supplied by the portal vein, whereas liver tumor its supplied by the arteries. Using a small tube that is introduced into your blood vessels, beads carrying either radiation or chemotherapy are delivered directly into tumor feeding arteries minimizing toxicity to the rest of your body. These therapies are palliative and used to treat liver cancer that can not be surgically excised or that are progressing on standard of care chemotherapy.
- Radiation TherapyThe American College of Radiology (ACR) recommends annual mammographic screening beginning at age 40 for women of average risk. Higher-risk women should start mammographic screening earlier and may benefit from supplemental screening modalities. For women with genetics-based increased risk (and their untested first-degree relatives), with a calculated lifetime risk of 20% or more or a history of chest or mantle radiation therapy at a young age, supplemental screening with contrast-enhanced breast MRI is recommended.

- Skin CancerIf you have primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma or cholangiocarcinoma) or liver cancer that has metastasized to the liver from other sites (colon, breast, melanoma, thyroid etc.) liver directed therapy utilizing tiny beads carrying radiation or chemotherapy may be an option for you. Our interventional oncology team works very closely with your oncologist to insure you receive the best treatment for your particular type of cancer.
