Our concept was created when one of the owners of Complement purchased a pair of nice earrings at a very popular department store to go with an outfit she was excited about wearing. She put the earrings on to complete the outfit and one of the beads fell off, leaving one earring longer than the other. She was disappointed because the earrings were such a perfect match for her dress. Defeat is not her style so she decided to wear the earrings anyway. She said, “If anyone asks me why the earrings do not match, I’ll tell them I got them from this jewelry company called Complement. Their earrings are not identical but they “complement” each other. It’s a new fashion trend.” Then she thought to herself, I’m going to start a jewelry company that does just that and thus the concept of not matching but complementing became a reality. It is not possible to use this concept with every set of earrings but we think you will find it fascinating and fun. You even have the option to choose two of number 1 or 2 of the complemented earrings if you want a matching pair.
