      Founded in 1943, United Blood Services is a nonprofit community blood center providing blood, blood components and special services. It serves patients in more than 500 hospitals in 18 states. United Blood Services is a part of Blood Systems, one of the oldest and largest blood service providers in the nation. Operational for over 70 years, it has been a founding member of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and America s Blood Centers. Blood Systems is also a member-owner of Blood Centers of America.
