We have a very dear friend who has been at Shell Point for 3 years. He began in independent living in a condo, moved to assisted living at the Springs and then to the Arbor. He was doing fine until he had an encounter with a male staff member (not sure if it was a nurse or nurse's aid). They transported him to Park Royal Psychiatric Hospital. Kept him there for 12 days. They moved him to Larsen Pavilion at Shell Point. He was there for a couple of weeks and had an encounter with a nurse who stepped between him and another patient (I call them patients because they don't seem like residents anymore). They transported him, once again, to Park Royal. He is on about a dozen medications and they are constantly changing them. He has been taken out of his familiar setting at the Arbor, where he was doing fine, and now back and forth to a mental facility. This is not the type of dementia/alzheirmer's care I would expect from a facility as expensive as Shell Point. Does anyone have any experience with Shell Point that you could share.
