The School District of Lee County, also known as Lee County Public Schools, is one of the largest educational systems in Florida and provides academic enrichment opportunities to students. It is located in Fort Myers, Fla., and operates various elementary, middle and high schools. The institution also operates several special education centers, including Dunbar Community School, Price Halfway House, the Royal Palm Exceptional Center and S.W. Florida Marine Institute. The School District of Lee County serves more than 80,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. It employs a staff of over 12,000 teachers and paraprofessionals. The institution s schools conduct classes in various subjects, such as English, math, science and social studies.
