- Primary CareAlthough we accept most insurance such as Medicare and most secondary carriers, we do not accept all HMO’s. If you have an HMO, please contact your primary care physician to obtain an authorization for your visit.
- GlaucomaDuring surgery a gas bubble is typically used, which can last around 2 or 10 weeks depending on the type of gas used. Face down positioning is no longer required in all patients after surgery, but in some cases your physician may request this to improve the chance of success. When needed it is typically only for a few hours a day, and at night patients can usually sleep on their side. While the gas bubble is in your eye, you will be instructed not to fly as the bubble can expand and cause eye pressure elevation, glaucoma, pain and vision loss.

- CataractsAwareness of the symptoms of retinal tears plays a critical part in reducing the potential permanent damage to vision. While the risk tends to increase for retinal tears as people age, people who have undergone cataract surgery, suffered a major blow to the head or injury to the eye are also at risk.
- Cataract SurgeryIn most cases, floaters are part of the natural aging process. As people grow older, the vitreous shrinking causes the development of cloudy clumps of vitreous which are seen as floaters. This is common among those who are nearsighted or who have undergone cataract surgery. While they may interfere with clear vision, floaters usually present no threat to your eye and are more of an annoyance than a visual impairment.
- Eye ExamA Retina exam is a quite extensive eye exam. Depending on the specialized test and procedures your doctor feels you need your visit could last 2-3 hours. While we try to be as efficient as possible, insuring you have a quality visit is our primary concern.

- Diabetic RetinopathyDiabetic retinopathy is the general term used for eye complications caused in the retina by diabetes. It is described as the weakening of the blood vessels that supply blood to the retina. It is the leading cause of vision loss in adults from 20 to 64 years of age, and afflicts approximately 90 percent of patients who have had diabetes for 15 years or longer. Juvenile diabetics are especially prone to diabetic retinopathy at an early age. The condition may be aggravated by pregnancy or high blood pressure. Fortunately, most vision loss can be prevented through regular eye examinations and early treatment.
