"Yira De La Paz, M.D., received board-certification through the American Board of Family Physicians, July 2011, to the present. She also holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, ACLS, and Basic Life Support, BLS. At Conviva West Oakland, she leads a team of compassionate, patient-focused health care professionals with a dedication to medical excellence. Dr. De La Paz performed a fellowship in metabolic and nutritional medicine from 2016 to 2019. She completed the Family Medicine Residency Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University in New York City, 2001-2004. Dr. De La Paz earned her medical degree from the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, 2001. She majored in biomedical engineering at Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York, 1993. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with a minor in Spanish from Rutgers University in New Brunswick in 1997. Dr. De La Paz is an experienced hospitalist and, in that capacity, saw ten to twenty patients in three hospitals per day from 2016 to 2019. In her private practice, De La Paz Medical and Weight Loss, she saw patients for routine primary care and exams, assisted patients with weight loss systems, treated patients for various hormonal disorders and infertility, and tested and treated patients for various allergic disorders, from 2011 to 2016. Dr. De La Paz’s professional affiliations the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. She has a special interest in sports medicine and women’s health."
