Sunrise Middle School is an educational institution that is located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The school s staff includes reading coaches, social workers, media specialists, guidance counselors and resource officers. It enrolls students in grades six through eight. The school operates language arts, math, science and social studies departments. It provides English for Speakers of Other Languages, Title 1 and exceptional student education programs and conducts peer counseling sessions. Sunrise Middle School operates a student council and choir, orchestra, band and yearbook clubs. The school also supports a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, music and physical education. It offers several sports activities, including basketball, football, soccer, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, swimming, and track and field. Sunrise Middle School is governed by Broward County Public Schools, which serves more than 258,000 students through various elementary, middle and high schools.
