Founded in 1964, MacArthur Middle School is located in Fort Meade, Md. The school provides educational services to more than 1,000 students in grades six through eight. It operates a parent-teacher-student association that conducts fundraising activities and special programs. Its curriculum includes language arts, math, science and social studies. MacArthur Middle School provides special education programs to gifted and talented students. The school also offers speech, language and occupational therapies to students with learning disabilities. It conducts French, Spanish, German, Japanese and Chinese language classes. In addition, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as art, music, drama, dance, and technical and physical education. It operates a band, choir, orchestra and yearbook club. The school also provides food, transportation, guidance counseling and health care. MacArthur Middle School is a part of Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
