Stewart Middle School is a part of Augusta County Public Schools, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Located in Fort Defiance, Va., Stewart Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. It also offers courses in technical education, business studies, agricultural science, applied mathematics and home economics. In addition, the school offers foreign language sessions in French, Spanish and Latin and provides extracurricular programs in art, music, and health and physical education. Stewart Middle School also provides the English as a Second Language program and offers guidance and counseling services. Its facility includes a library and media center that has a collection of several books and magazines.
