Scott Chiu teaches Clarinet and Piano for My Local Music Lessons in the Fort Collins, Colorado area. Scott is currently attending Colorado State University for a degree in Music Performance. Scott start learning piano when he was 4, and he has won many Piano competitions back in Taiwan. Scott started learning Clarinet at the age of 7 and has had many Clarinet performances and competitions, and band performances and won many competitions back in Taiwan, and he’s also won tons of awards for his Clarinet performances and competitions, band performances and competitions in Denver. Scott has been in Jefferson Solo Ensemble competition three times, and he is 1st rank for every competition he has attended. Scott’s high school (Denver School of the Arts) band has been in CMEA (Colorado Music Education Associate), they played Pines of Rome by Respighi and Fantasy Variations by James Barnes, and Scott played the huge Clarinet solo in the 3rd movement from Pines of Rome. Scott’s band has joined the State Competition several times, and they got superior and distinction every state competition. Scott’s band director at D.S.A. gave him a lot of opportunity to play with other great bands; he has performed a woodwind quartet with Air Force Academy Wind Band, he has performed with U.S. Navy Concert Band, and he also played on the CPR (Colorado Public Radio) with his woodwind quintet; his woodwind quintet won the Downbeat magazine award for students in 2013, and the CMEA.
