General Info
Our first worship service took place on October 8, 1972, in the borrowed facilities of the neighboring St. Peter's Catholic Church gymnasium. Shortly afterward, on December 29, 1972, Messiah acquired the nearby property of "Big Ed's Auto Salvage Yard" at the corner of Highway 97/Scandia Trail and Eighth Street. On April 15, 1973, Messiah observed its Charter Sunday by installing its officers, and by signing its constitution and bylaws. On September 9, 1973, Messiah installed its first called pastor, The Reverend John A. Strohschein, who shortly afterward led the congregation's building committee to the point of breaking ground for the new building on August 4, 1974. Upon completion of the sanctuary building, the congregation dedicated the facility on June 22, 1975, to the public ministry of the Gospel. Our called and ordained pastors of record are: Rev. John A. Strohschein (1973-1992); Rev. Theodore G. Predoehl (1992-2002); Rev. Daniel N. Jastram (2003-present). "I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the LORD'" (Psalm 122:1).
