General Info
Efficient Power Corp's 2012-2013 initial and continuing focus is to build community and government relationships throughout New York City and NY State in order to strategically implement ourselves as an innovator in the Energy Efficient Lighting Sector. We seek to work with official planners, non-profit associations, and industry partners to develop the best product that will address an array of concerns including environmental issues, forward looking long term economic factors, and the well-being of building occupants where EPC's new lighting systems are installed. Lighting accounts for around 17% of New York City's energy consumption, and while city planners have set aggressive goals for reducing that consumption, in many cases their plans fail to recognize emerging technology that can provide major benefits to all of the inhabitants, workforce, visitors, and business owners within. Innovative research, new product integration, and market development; along with exploration of additional long term benefits associated with energy efficient lighting development is our forward looking plan in order to commit and continue to provide the greatest benefits to EPC's customers. When the EPA started investigating the dangers of PCB's, they called for a phasing out of magnetic ballasts, and coming in July 2012 a T12 bulb phase out. Using short-sighted thinking, many government programs, commercial business owners, and building managers started in 2010 by switching to electronic ballasts and keeping their existing bulbs. Currently, with production of new T12 bulbs ending in July 2012 the current short-sighted solution is to switch to T8 bulbs, requiring further labor and costs including a necessary T8 ballast installation. Efficient Power Corp has a product that is aligned with the EPA's goals of eliminating PCB's and significantly lowering mercury levels, while skipping ahead of an entire generation of technology; reducing upfront installation costs, future ballast and bulb replacement costs; all while reducing lighting energy consumption by up to 66%. Our T5 retrofit fixture has a uniquely designed built-in electronic ballast with substantially higher ballast efficiency factor standards than required by any current govern
