We have grown to become New York State's largest Asian-owned independent insurance agency. The company is led by Brooklyn-born David J. Louie, a Vietnam veteran and community leader, who started the insurance agency in 1976. Today Chinatown-based DJL represents numerous strong insurance companies and employs over 30 people serving more than 400 retail producers and 2500 direct personal and commercial clients in the northeast and California. DJL's cultural sensitivity and language capabilities are important in providing expert guidance and support to an extensive range of Asian businesses, insurance producers and other professionals. But we are not merely "ethnic."
