Only take a class from Barbara Hack. She is good. My 9 year old took a class from Aimee and it was terrible. She put up several 8 by 11 inch charcoal drawings of ears (very well done) and told the class to draw them - with shadows! My 9 year old was one of the oldest in this class - so a young class. No instruction, just draw an ear like this drawing. Oh - and include all the shadows! What is the value of this. 2nd class and this is what they do? My kid left and told me "mom I can't draw, I'm bad at art!" At art house - they are not flexible enough to taylor the lesson to the age and level of the class! All age groups of classes had this same lesson - no variation, no help! Why would I pay money for an art CLASS that doesn't teach. The teacher was filled with criticism of the kids work - but didn't tell them how to do anything! I was appalled!
