General Info
If you are looking for something that goes beyond a mere hotel stay on your next visit to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, then look no further than the Rancho Sonora Inn. Year round, Rancho Sonora's doors are open to a limited number of lucky guests. With only four charming guest rooms, a gracious Southwestern suite and three full-sized casitas (small cottages), Ranch Sonora retains the feel of an exclusive private hideaway, which is exactly what it was created to be nearly a century ago. There is nothing of the cookie cutter hotel found here. As Arizona Highway's feature video so eloquently states, "introduces rustic to refinement...an eclectic mix of furnishings, fine bedding and modern amenities". One of Florence's original hacienda land sites, Rancho Sonora is a refreshing oasis found in the Sonoran Arizona desert. Though Rancho Sonora's history reaches back as far as the 1930's, it is anything but an old relic. It has undergone careful and thoughtful multi- year restoration through the watchful eye of Linda Freeman, the Inn's owner. She has brought to life again the rustic but gracious Southwestern living this part of the country is so famous for. The amenities are plentiful and full of charm for any discriminating traveler. Each of our uniquely designed and decorated guest rooms feature fine linens, plush towels, satellite televisions, DVD players, coffee makers, clock radios, high-speed internet access, refrigerators and individual room climate control. Those are the standard amenities, but then there are many unique surprises too. The guest rooms rooms have been carefully and thoughtfully arranged to be a private respite from your busy life. For those wishing a more spacious or family environment, a home way from home, the quanit casitas are the perfect answer. They offer all the conveniences of home but without all the hustle and bustle. You can relax in the roomy casitas in simply elegant, comfortable style or enjoy a swing on the porch or have a little lunch on the private terrace. All the guest roooms and casitas have been decorated and appointed with only your comfort and pleasure in mind. And if you can tear yourself away from your own personal hideaway long enough, you will discover a delightful pool and hot tub where you can enjoy a little dip before dinner or cool off from the afternoon sun. If you are keen on barbequing, stoke up the coals at the barbeque areas and delight in a tasty grilled dinner. This is a wonderful way to finish up the day and take in the colorful and utterly spectacular Arizona sunsets. While staying at the Rancho Sonora Inn, you'll feel like you're a world away from all the stresses and concerns of the daily life. Come and relax - let Rancho Sonora Inn be your own private retreat.

I came during Christmas week to visit my sitter and brother-in-law who are staying at Desert Gardens RV Park. This inn is located right next door. I could easily walk from my room to visit them. I was in the Alamo room; very nicely decorated, extremely comfortable bed, large bathroom, plenty of hot water. I will return!

My work pace is such that get-away time is a precious commodity. The Juanita cassita at The Inn at Rancho Sonora proved to be the ideal place for my bride of 36 years and I to pause, to savor the southwest beauty with open space, slowed cadence, and abundant wildlife. The grounds are spectacular in both natural beauty typical of the Sonoran cacti (largest saguaro cacti we've ever seen) as well as the owner-deployed (Linda) accents of Southwest art. It's clear that 20 years' of attention by Linda has enhanced this setting where the inspiring Superstition Mountains to the north are positioned to draw one's imagination of long-ago rugged "holy places" to the native peoples. Tranquility drapes the property; the mourning of the doves, the cries of the quail, the soaring hawks, all provide drama to the fragrant creosote and palo verde landscape.

My husband and I have been searching for a SW Paradise for several years and we finally found it!! The beauty, nature, and peacefulness we discovered at the Rancho Sonora compares only to that of a beach house on the north shore of Oahu, HI. We stayed in the Ilsa Casita. The furnishings were beautiful & comfortable, and the setting was next to perfect. Hummingbirds regularly visited the orange blossoms outside our bedroom along with many other beautiful birds. The grounds are landscaped in true SW form, full of a large spectrum of cacti, along with palm trees scattered around the pool area. There are so many things to see nearby as well as nature activities and an assortment of restaurants. Next year we plan to stay for 2 weeks! Thank you Linda for offering so much at your Inn!

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay near Florence because we were invited to a wedding at the Windmill Winery. I found the Inn at RS on-line. We had an awesome stay! The Inn was very clean and quiet. The desert landscape and wildlife were awesome! Along with Emma, Tilly and Little Cat, the Inn's two dogs and cat. Linda was very nice and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Inn and will stay there again for a relaxing desert getaway!

I drove by this place for years and never realized it was here. What a charming, quite and quaint place, so glad I finally found it! It's set back a little off the road which makes a great place for rendezvous :) Wonderful and very accommodating staff.

This is a fantastic B&B; the rooms are clean and beautiful, the breakfast is great and the beds are SO comfortable. We found this place on the internet, and I'm so glad we did. We don't often go to this part of AZ, but when we do, we will definitely stay here again. We were there for 4 nights while at a family reunion.

This is our home away from home! If you ever come near this area, you will not regret staying at the Rancho Sonora. It is a nice place to get together with a family and can accommodate a large group of people. We love staying at their casita, a self standing house. Everything is super clean and tastefully decorated. We stayed twice at Casita-Ilsa. The Ilsa has a full kitchen with a eat-inn counter, TV room, a comfortable bed and large bath tub. There are also affordable motel rooms which are very charming. They also have jacuzzi and pool. My father in-law stays at RV park for winter. He loves the community. I love going there to see him, thanks to the comfortable and welcoming environment they provide there.

An adorable surprise of an Inn in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I was doing a long-distance bike ride through AZ and booked a room here only b/c Florence seemed like a good stopping point before a full-day ride to Tucson. From the moment I rode up to the entrance of the courtyard, I was astounded. The courtyard has a tranquil appeal, complete with a water fountain to soothe what ails you. The room I was in (Dolores) was delightfully decorated and outfitted w/ the comfiest queen sized bed, TV, fridge, hairdryer, French soaps and shampoo, and vintage bedside reads. And in the morning, there was breakfast, during which Linda, the owner, offered me extra food to pack for my ride to Tucson. What a treat to have found this place. This would be the perfect place to take a quiet long weekend escape from the hustle of life and read, write, breathe and just be still. I intend to come back soon.

This is peace! This is quiet! This is letting go of your hectic reality and just relaxing (remember that wonderful feeling). An alternative to staying in a chain and getting away from airport/city/work-work-work. Phoenix is less than 45 min away and Tuscon just an hour. So get the work done, finish those meetings and put your feet up....wi-fi if you must! Six rooms around a courtyard or one and two bedroom casitas with full kitchens and living areas. Yes, there's a pool, yes, there's a jacuzzi, yes, you can BBQ.

If you want to get off the grid and really relax what a cool place. It offers options from nice rooms to casitas with multiple bedrooms/bathrooms and a full kitchen. There is no restuaraunt on the property, but a nice pool, wifi, etc.
