Dr. William A. Collignon, Jr., was born in Birmingham, Alabama in September of 1955, where he remained until moving to Sheffield, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology in June of 1977, he received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in June of 1978. In June of 1982 after four years of medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, he received his degree in medicine. In June of 1983, he completed a internship in General Surgery at Baptist Health Systems. In June of 1987, he completed a residency in General Surgery at Baptist Health Systems.After he completed his residency, he moved to the Shoals area where he has been in private practice for 20 years.Dr. Collignon is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He is a member of the Alabama College of Surgeons and the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Collignon is a senior Aviation Medical Examiner serving the local flying community and an instrument rated private pilot.Dr. Collignon is married and has two children.
