      General Info

      Established in 1965, the Valley Area Agency on Aging is a private nonprofit organization. Located in Flint, Mich., the organization serves senior citizens with disabilities. It provides the Long-Term Care Ombudsman and elder abuse prevention and education programs. In addition, it supports the Medicare/Medicaid Assistance Program. The Valley Area Agency on Aging provides an adult day care program that includes social and rehabilitative services for people with functional impairments. The organization offers elderly abuse-related services that include the provision of public education, outreach and referral programs with respect to the prevention of abuse, neglect and exploitation of older individuals. The Valley Area Agency on Aging is a member of the Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Aging.
