Manual Gasch started Terra Tile & Marble with his wife and partner, Susan, over 15 years ago in a small showroom in Ossining. He built his business around importing tiles from around the world, primarily from his native Spain. Five years after Ossining opened; they outgrew the space and built a 30,000 sq ft warehouse and showroom in Briarcliff Manor. They later added a fabrication plant for countertops and 2 more branch locations in Manhattan and Fishkill, NY. When he started high end decorative tile was the smaller portion of his business. Today, the high end tiles account for 75% and he has moved beyond tile into marble and granite, which is fabricated for flooring, counter tops and walls. Susan loves "finding beautiful ceramic and unusual stone in Modena, Italy, or Castellon, Spain, and bringing them to our showrooms." "Seeing the enjoyment and beauty they bring to home decorators is so gratifying," for her. Terra Tile & Marble imported more than 100,000 sq ft of custom-made tiles from Castellon, Spain for the ceiling of the Holland tunnels. Its tiles adorn such restaurants as Trotters in White Plains, Spaccarelli's in Millwood, Aquario in West Harrison, plus the homes of local celebs such as Audra Mc Donald, Mariano Rivera, Robert Klein, and Rob Thomas.
