- Primary CareA woman's 20s and 30s are often considered the "child bearing years". Regular GYN care is important for a woman's overall health, whether you are planning a pregnancy or not. It is also important to continue your regular GYN care post pregnancy. Our Certified Nurse Midwives are a great choice for your GYN care needs. It is important to remember that we are OB/GYN specialist, and we encourage you to also have a primary care provider.
- Family PracticeThe American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommends that the first visit with a woman's healthcare specialist occur between the ages of 13 and 15. AHCFW offers a safe and caring atmosphere to provide guidance and information on healthy choices which is vital during this time of many physical and emotional changes. Our Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) are wonderful GYN practitioners for women of all ages. We often find our youngest patients are most comfortable with our CNMs. This is an optimal time to discuss any concerns relating to irregular periods or any other area of concern. In most cases a pelvic exam is not necessary, and PAP Smears are not recommended until the age of 21. This is also a good time to discuss the HPV vaccine, if not already received at the pediatrician office. Since we are a specialist, we encourage a continued relationship with a pediatrician of family practice practitioner.

- ImmunizationsThe rubella titer detects whether you have immunity to rubella from a past infection from German Measles or from prior vaccination. If you have not had the vaccine, you should get it after delivery. You should not be vaccinated against rubella during pregnancy.
- GynecologyA certified nurse midwife is an advance practice registered nurse who provides comprehensive health care to women throughout their lifespan. CNMs are skilled healthcare professionals who utilize evidence-based knowledge to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients. The AHCFW team of CNMs have access to our OB GYN Physicians in our office and at the hospital for consultation and referral purposes, which helps maintain continuity of care when needed.
