- FibromyalgiaDr. Mason obtained a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition in 2010, with the intent of helping his patients heal their bodies naturally utilizing targeted supplements and lifestyle changes. Dr. Mason regularly counsels’ patients on digestive issues, fatigue, poor sleeping habits, fibromyalgia, food intolerances, and many other ailments taking a natural approach to getting the body back in balance. Sometimes, outside lab testing is indicated which can be ordered from our office and performed at home. Dr. Mason also gives advice on which supplements to take based on the individuals need. This helps patients avoid purchasing bags of vitamins and supplements that are costly and may not be what the patient should be taking in the first place.
- Medical Weight LossWeight loss is a multibillion dollar industry in the United States annually, and as we age it becomes harder to keep weight off due to slowing metabolism, lack of exercise, and poor dietary choices. There is technology that our office uses along with dietary and lifestyle changes that helps patients achieve weight and inch loss using laser therapy. Cold laser therapy is a non-heating light treatment that stimulates the production of ATP(energy) over the area where its utilized to aid in energy production to help the body shed inches and eventually weight.
- Primary CareAlmost all insurance companies we deal with in our office cover chiropractic care to some degree and many do not require a referral from a primary care doctor. Acupuncture, however, is a service that may or may not be covered and will depend on your insurance plan. Your coverage information can be found by contacting your insurance provider.

- EpilepsyInterestingly, the keto diet has been around for a long time. Doctors first started using it, Ewoldt says, in the 1920s to treat kids with epilepsy, and it's still sometimes used for that. But today, it is gaining traction for weight loss or to fuel extreme endurance sports like marathon running and triathlons.

- Hip ReplacementPhysical Therapists primarily focus on stretching and strengthening muscles and other tissues in the body. They are not spinal specialists that spent most of their schooling studying how to assess and adjust the spine. Chiropractors have a much deeper understanding of spinal biomechanics and are more qualified to adjust. Physical Therapists do not undergo the extensive training that is required to perform spinal manipulation properly, however, they do tremendous work for patients with other problems. For example, many Chiropractors would not feel best equipped on how to effectively rehabilitate a patient following a shoulder or hip replacement surgery; thus a Physical Therapist would be uniquely better able to perform these services. In our opinion, we need to work together to assess what is going on with the patient, make the appropriate referral and treat within our scope of practice. We have on many occasions felt a PT approach would best benefit the patient and have recommended them to therapy that is more intensive, and they do great.
- LesionsL.A.S.E.R. (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) is a name for a type of intense radiation of the light spectrum. A laser is a beam of light in which high energies can be concentrated. Laser light has unique physical properties, which other types of light do not have. These are coherence and monochromaticity. These are what makes laser light is so effective compared to other kinds of light in the field of pain reduction and healing. Laser treatment (also known as phototherapy and low level laser therapy) involves the application of low power coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing and reduce pain. It is used to increase the speed, quality and strength of tissue repair, resolve inflammation and give pain relief. Low level laser technology has been found to offer superior healing and pain relieving effects compared to other electrotherapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, especially in dealing with chronic problems and in the early stages of acute injuries. Low level laser technology is a complete system of treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective tissue, bone, nerve, and dermal tissues in a non-invasive, drug-free modality.

- Manual TherapyThe doctors at Mason Family Chiropractic and Wellness offer traditional Chiropractic techniques that involve adjusting the spine that may cause an audible “pop” or “cracking” sound similar to “cracking” your knuckles. This type of manual therapy has been used for over 100 years, is safe, effective, and has fewer side effects than drugs or surgery. There are more than 70,000 chiropractors practicing in the United States that perform millions of adjustments per year.
