The YMCA CAMP Copneconic is a nonprofit organization that offers various youth and community development programs. Founded in 1915, it operates year-round summer resident and day camps and school and family programs. The organization offers the Heroes Retreat, which is a character development program for schools that serve students in grades 4 through 12. The program focuses on strengthening the character of each student, improving interpersonal relationships and establishing a school culture based on care and cooperation. The YMCA CAMP Copneconic also offers a science and adventure day program for students in grades one through three. The program increases students knowledge on a variety of animals, reptiles and amphibians. The organization is located in Fenton, Mich., and is operated by the YMCA of Greater Flint.
