- GlaucomaGlaucoma is an eye disease that is the leading cause of blindness in those over 60 in the US. It is the result of a buildup of fluid that cannot properly drain from the eye, causing pressure and damage to the optic nerve. Without treatment, glaucoma can result in non-reversible vision loss.

- Macular DegenerationExtended exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun can cause damage to your eyes. This can include cataracts and macular degeneration, along with other eye problems. Luckily, polycarbonate lenses already block out harmful UV rays from the sun. And, unlike some other types of eyeglass lenses, they do not require any additional coating for sun protection.
- Laser Eye SurgeryThe cost of LASIK eye surgery shouldn’t stand in the way of correcting your vision. At Michigan Eye Institute, we proudly offer our patients both financing options and pricing discounts on their LASIK procedures. Whether you’re a candidate for LASIK eye surgery or one of its alternatives, you can trust our highly trained ophthalmologists to deliver you expert care.
- CataractsCataracts are a clouding of the natural lens in your eye. As we age, our eyes mature and vision changes naturally occur. In fact, cataracts affect more than 50% of people over the age of 60.
- Cataract SurgeryDropless cataract surgery offers a wonderful alternative for those looking for a smoother recovery from cataract surgery. After traditional cataract surgery, eye drops are prescribed to prevent infection. If you opt for dropless cataract surgery, our expert eye surgeons administer the antibiotics and anti-inflammatories during the cataract procedure resulting in a more relaxing postoperative period.
