Located in Fayetteville, N.C., Southern Regional AHEC, also known as Southern Regional Area Health Education Center is a nonprofit corporation that was founded in 1974 and provides health care education and services. Its medical facility provides health care to patients of all ages and offers a residency program. The education center s regional education and information services provides continuing education services to health care professionals in hospitals, public health departments, long-term care centers, nursing facilities, mental health centers and other regional health care agencies. It also offers off campus master degree programs. Southern Regional AHEC is affiliated with Duke University Medical Center and is a part of the North Carolina Area Health Education Centers Program.
