Douglas Byrd Middle School offers cocurricular programs, including quiz bowl, Science Olympiad, Math Counts, student government, and geography and spelling bee competitions. The school supports several sports activities, including soccer, football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, and track and field. Douglas Byrd Middle School provides special education classes for mentally and physical disabled and behaviorally and emotionally disturbed students. The school s core curriculum includes English, math, science and social studies. Its elective courses include art, band, chorus, drama and orchestra.
