The Fayette County Public Works Division is a part of the Government of Fayette County in Georgia. It provides administrative support to various departments, including engineering, fleet maintenance, grounds and buildings maintenance, road department and Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (S.P.L.O.S.T) transportation projects. The department is responsible for providing technical services assisting the community and other departments as well as for the County s fleet of vehicles and equipment. Also responsible for maintaining assets, including the Fayette County buildings and recreational grounds, the Public Works division handles funding applications to the Georgia Department of Transportation for new road projects and resurfacing Fayette County s roads. Established in 1821, the Government of Fayette County is divided into a number of departments, including public works, community development, administrative, health and others.
