Popes Creek Stable Thank you for stopping by to visit. We hope that you will enjoy browsing through our site and getting to know us. We offer full service boarding for your horse, as well as riding lessons for you. We promote a casual, relaxed atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable and enjoy the camaraderie of the boarders and students. Our facility is located on a historic 2000 acre preserve in southern Maryland. In addition to the riding ring and pastures, there are miles and miles of beautiful trails throughout the property. Adjoining the scenic Potomac River, the trails offer both horses and riders an opportunity to enjoy a refreshing summertime splash! Autumn brings forth a bountiful display of color, to be enjoyed on a fall ride through the leaves. In addition to our stable amenities, you can enjoy the abundance of wildlife that is common on the property. Each year we know that spring has arrived when we see the barn swallows beginning to make their nests. They add cheery song to the barn all summer. There is a wonderful variety of other birds, including the grand bald eagle. There are many others to see; such as deer, groundhogs, beavers, and foxes just to mention a few. We are proud to be able to offer both full board and field board. Our horses are happy and healthy, and are placed in a herd based on their individual placement in the social order. Safety is always our top priority.
