- ElectrocardiogramA stress electrocardiogram provides information about how the heart responds to physical stress. It usually involves walking on a treadmill at increasing levels of difficulty, while the electrocardiogram, heart rate and blood pressure are monitored.
- Diabetes Care
- UltrasoundAn echocardiogram (often called “echo”) is a graphic outline of the heart’s movement, valves and chambers. During the transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) test, an ultrasound transducer (which produces high frequency sound waves) provides pictures of the heart’s valves and chambers and helps the physician evaluate the pumping action of the heart. The test is performed within a hospital setting under sedation.
- Wound CareWound care: An occlusive dressing will be applied while you are in the hospital, which is not to be removed until your follow-up appointment in one week. You may not shower, drive, or lift anything until evaluated at your follow-up visit. You are not to lift your arm (side the pacemaker was inserted) above shoulder level. A sling will be provided.
