Par's threads may be found on Pratt & Whitney Aircraft engines, Sikorsky Helicopters and General Electric engines. The company also provides thread grinding for the medical industry. In 1951, Anthony Perretta founded Par Manufacturing as a one-man job shop. Perretta was one of New Britain Machines' first trained thread grinders. Sal DiMauro and John Vasellina Sr. became Perretta's partners in 1956. In 1970, John and Sal purchased Perretta's interest in the firm and became the sole owners. In 1977, John Vasellina Jr. and Kenneth DiMauro, sons of the two principals, joined Par Manufacturing and eventually assumed the operations as well as it's ownership.
