The MeritCare Health System is a nonprofit, integrated health care unit that is one of the largest, private employers and medical group practices in the state of North Dakota. It has a staff of more than 7,000 employees and operates a hospital and nearly 15 regional clinics in the state of Minnesota. The system is also one of the largest providers of home health care services in North Dakota. The MeritCare Health System s hospital features more than 580 beds. Its operations include the Child Development Center, Healthcare Environmental, MeritCare Foundation, MeritCare HealthCare Accessories and Agassiz Assurance. The system provides a range of medical and surgical services for anesthesiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, hematology, neurology, oncology, and ear, nose and throat diseases. The MeritCare Health System has been accredited by The Joint Commission.
