My wife had taken her machine to him a couple of years ago and had good service. This time when she took her sewing machine in. It was a disaster. He had to order a part so took about 2 weeks which was about right for time. He called, and I went to pick it up. He gave me one tagged with her name and address. Got home, turned out it wasn't her machine. He had switched them. She had to go back and find her machine in his store. Brought it home -- didn't work. He had put a different sewing foot and shank on her machine. Took it back - he denied it but when shown the owners manual that clearly showed a different foot and shank, he admitted it but could not find the correct parts. Did not offer to make it good. We will never return.

Nicest man! I'm not sure where that first review came from, but he/she is sadly mistaken. Practically every family in our neighborhood have been going to him for years now. My friends from Alexandria even come to him for his services. He's always sweet and saves us money wherever he can. I would gladly recommend him to everyone!
My Dyson DC-07 needed repair. I searched the net and found a repair shop not far from my home. Then called Dyson, but they did not recommend that shop and instead gave me Americana. I checked Google for a review on Americana and saw the one above. It wasn't very encouraging, but a few things seemed odd: first the reviewer said they "struggled to carry" the vac in. Every vac I've seen in the last 50 years has wheels - so I didn't get the "struggle to carry it in." Second, the reviewer says the shop was empty, but in the same sentence says the "salesperson" was there. So it wasn't empty. Maybe they mean there were no customers. Well it isn't Walmart! I wouldn't expect it to be crowded. The "salesman" is the owner and he treated me fine. He had the parts in stock and had it repaired the next day. The price was reasonable and compared to the parts prices I checked online. Sounds like the reviewer had a bad attitude from the beginning. I recommend Americana and would go back.

Unfortunately, l would never recommend this business to have your vacuum cleaner repaired , even when it is still under warranty. I brought my dyson in which is not a year old yet, a month ago. Upon arrival, the store was empty, the salesperson did not smile nor greet me upon entering. One would think it would be good customer service. Struggling to carry it in, he did not even attempt to assist. Very sternly he asked what was wrong with it, told him the details and when l went to show him the issue, he grabbed it from me saying l know , l know . I calmly looked over at him and commented his attitude was rude and l would be reporting this to the vacuum company. He went silent, never attempted to apologize and just handed ticket and asked for contact information. Said he had to order part and could not give any estimate when it would be ready. Three weeks into it, called him, same man said he waits to get $300.00 order before ordering parts and hope to be this week. Still no part!
