Blount Seafood Corporation has been processing clams and value-added seafood since 1946. The Warren, R.I., company prides itself on creating culinary products for the food service industry. Blount's product lines include specialty items, such as soups and sauces, breaded seafood, dips and crab cakes. It also offers frozen shellfish, such as sea clam meat, mussels and calamari. In all, the company manufactures 65 different soups, of which 25 are clam chowders, which are sold under several brand names, as well as through national distributors. Blount Seafood was established in 1880 and incorporated in 1946. The company operates production facilities in New Bedford, Mass., and participates in joint ventures involving production operations in Iceland, Chile, India, New Zealand and Canada.
