General Info
Beaver Creek Reserve, established in 1947, is operated by the Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve and Eau Claire County. Beaver Creek includes a nature center, butterfly house, observatory, youth camp, nature store, citizen science center, field research station, and charter science research school. Spread on more than 360-acres of land, Beaver s youth camp offers overnight accommodations for schools, scouts, and 4-H and church groups. The youth camp features a main and a cedar lodge, five cabins and a large dining hall. BCR s Hobbs Observatory, operated cooperatively by the reserve, University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire Department of Physics and Astronomy, and Chippewa Valley Astronomical Society, consists of two domes with computer-operated telescopes, a large lecture room and a resource room. Located in fall creek, Wis., the nature store provides a wide variety of field guides and reference books about plants, animals, birds and butterflies. It also offers bug nets and puzzles, mementos, nature-themed items, shirts, candles, wind chimes, puppets, birdfeeders, and bird food items.
