General Info

A person who is trying faithfully to reproduce herself or himself. United Methodist Church Weis Library is a part of the United Methodist Church. For more information please visit United Methodist Church. Founded by missionary John Seybert in 1833, the first congregation was composed of German speaking members of the Evangelical Association. The white church building was known as the Union School ( now Morey Chapel ). In 1926, the name was changed to Weis Library Evangelical Church. The original building was expanded in 1946 to include a basement and our present educational wing. The sanctuary in which we worship today was constructed in 1969, just one year after the Evangelical Brethren and Methodist Episcopal Churches merged to form the United Methodist Church. In 1997 and 1998 a major renovation project was undertaken which enhanced the building, parking lot and parsonage which is located on Millfair Rd. The house to the west side of the church, facing Heidler Road, was purchased in 2000. In 200? the Christ Center was constructed.
