Bought 2 gowns (1 for son's wedding and 1 for daughter's wedding) within a 4 month period. Happy with 1st gown and service, but not with 2nd gown. Seriously OUTRAGEOUS pricing for alterations.....cost almost as much as the gown!! After spending $850 on 1st gown (without alterations), thought Vera would give some type of discount for spending another $450 on 2nd gown........but the alterations for this 2nd gown cost $200!!! Almost half as much as the gown cost! And I wasn't pleased with the alterations done. Hem was longer in back by 1/4" and shorter in front by 1/4", and one alteration she was to make wasn't even done....but had already paid upfront for it. Live over an hour away and not enough time to leave gown for that alteration to be made and return again for pick-up. Will only purchase a gown there again ONLY if no alterations have to be made. Seems Vera makes up for discounted gowns by charging high alteration costs that are poorly done.
