Founded in 1906, Sam's Original Restaurant specializes in barbecue and homemade pies. The restaurant offers country diners, hickory smoked barbecue dinners, burgers and sandwiches, salads, breakfast menus and beverages. It offers pies in a variety of flavors, including apple, coconut cream, apple crumb, pecan, peach, pineapple, peach crumb, pineapple cream, chocolate cream, pumpkin, chocolate pecan cream and lemon. Its buffet menu includes chicken fried steak, barbecue beef, barbecue sausage, barbecue chicken and fried shrimp. Through its gift shop, the restaurant also offers American-wine chimes and WoodWick Candles.
