- Minimally Invasive SurgeryMinimally Invasive Surgery Laparoscopic Hysterectomy - The LSH procedure uses a thin, lighted telescope-like instrument called a laparoscope, which acts like a video camera, along with small surgical instruments that are all inserted through three to four tiny incisions (less than ¼ inch each) in the navel and abdomen. Using the instruments, the surgeon carefully separates the uterus from the cervix and removes it through one of the openings. The cervix, the bottom part of the uterus, is left intact. Because this type of surgery does not require the surgeon to make a large abdominal incision, you will not have the same kind of visible scar typical with most traditional, “open†surgeries.
- Robotic SurgeryDaVinci Robotic Surgery - Robot-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System may be the most effective, least invasive treatment option. Through tiny, 1-2 cm incisions, surgeons using the da Vinci System can operate with greater precision and control, minimizing the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
- HysterectomyIf you're a woman who's dealing with a health issue that requires surgery, you may be wondering if robotic surgery is the right option for you. da Vinci robotic surgery offers several benefits, including less pain, smaller scars, and a shorter recovery time. At Obstetrics & Gynecology Associates, we're proud to offer this innovative technology to our patients.
