Founded in 1954, Pence Elementary School enrolls students in kindergarten through grade five. The school provides educational services to more than 300 students. It has a music room and employs a staff of a consultant, psychologist, speech therapist, secretary, custodian and librarian. The school also has a cafeteria that serves breakfast, lunch, milk and juices. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, social studies and language arts. Additionally, Pence Elementary School maintains a library that offers a collection of literature and books. It has a computer laboratory with Internet access, as well as organizes various field trips. In addition, the school provides physical education classes. Located in Fairfield, Iowa, Pence Elementary School is operated by the Fairfield Community School District. The district operates several middle and high schools and offers sports activities, including football, volleyball and swimming.
