General Practitioners

• Pediatric Care
  Starting July 7, 2020 I will begin work at Prima Medicine. You will receive the same expert care that I have provided for you for the past twenty-three years. There will be a very few administrative changes. First, I will be moving to the opposite end of Fair Ridge Drive. Prima Medicine is located at 3903 Fair Ridge Drive, Suite 218, Fairfax, VA 22033. The number to schedule appointments is 703-870-3750. Second, I will no longer be a Direct Primary Care provider. This means I will begin accepting commercial insurance starting 07/01/2020. For my Direct Primary Care members, your last monthly payment will be for June 2020. If you paid for the year in advance, then I will be issuing a refund check for any payment that would be applied for after 07/01/2020. Lastly, I am sad to inform Prima Medicine does not see pediatric patients. I will no longer be able to offer care to children under the age of sixteen. I will greatly miss seeing all of the wonderful children, most of which I have cared for since birth. I am recommending pediatric care with one of the Privia Pediatric groups. Seeing a Privia pediatric provider will allow your child's medical record to be part of the same health record system as the parent's and will make transition back to me easy after the sixteenth birthday.
• Primary Care
  It is with mixed emotions that I announce the next phase of my life. As most of you know, I have practiced here since 1997 and took ownership of Capital Family Practice in 2004. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, I decided to try to simplify my life and practice by becoming a Direct Primary Care provider. While this has allowed less frustration with insurance companies and given me more time with you, the job has continued to be a twenty-four hour a day, seven days a week, three-hundred and sixty five days a year job. I have loved running my own practice, but still feel the need to scale back on my responsibilities. I have been given the opportunity to work for Prima Medicine, a Privia Medical Group practice, on a part time basis no longer needing to manage the administrative aspect of a practice. While I am saddened to give up the portion of my life, I am looking forward to more time with my family and personal interests.

  Convenience and education for our patients is important to us. Our website contains many useful patient resources. From links to reputable family health websites to a daily health news feed and physician blog to our online "Patient Portal".
• Emergency Care
  From 06/18/2020 to 07/07/2020 Dr. Curtis will be available by phone for urgent medical problems by calling 703-352-0500. For true emergencies call 911 and go to the nearest emergency room. For routine matters, please contact Dr. Curtis at Prima Medicine after 07/07/2020.
