Westwood Community Church was born on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1995. It was the third daughter church of Wooddale Church in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The founding leadership wanted to establish a church in Chanhassen, an under-churched suburb southwest of Minneapolis that would be regional in its reach. The core group of 90 wanted to create a welcoming place for people regardless of where they were in their spiritual journey - a place where God's love is experienced in compelling ways, drawing people into vital knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ. In 2005, to celebrate our 10th anniversary, Westwood planted a daughter church, Emmaus Road Church meeting in the Eisenhower Community Center. In 2011, Westbrook Church was started, meeting in the Clover Ridge Elementary School in Chaska. Westwood has grown from a staff of 2 to 75, from two to four services, and from a weekly attendance of 90 to more than 3,000.
