ABOUT NORTHWEST ZOOPATH Northwest ZooPath was founded in 1994 and is a consulting service that specializes in the pathology of non-domestic species. If your practice deals with zoo and wildlife species, laboratory animals, birds, reptiles, aquatic animals, camelids, ratites, ferrets or rabbits, then our service can be helpful to you. We are specialty pathologists committed to staying on the "cutting edge" of the burgeoning literature dealing with disease in these species, and to providing expedient service at a reasonable cost. Dr. Garner obtained his DVM degree from Washington State University in 1987. He practiced four years in a companion/exotic animal clinic prior to entering a pathology residency at the University of Florida. After becoming board-certified, Dr. Garner founded Northwest ZooPath in 1994. Mike has authored or co-authored several articles on the pathology and medicine of non-domestic species. He is a member of AAZV, AAV, WDA, ARAV, Am. Assoc. of Avian Path., Am Assoc. for Lab. Anim. Sci., Am. Fisheries Soc., Internat. Assoc. Aquat. Anim.. Med, and Am. Assoc. of Vet. Lab. Diagnosticians. Mike is also an adjunct associate professor of pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Washington State University. Dr. Trupkiewicz earned his D.V.M. degree from Colorado State University in 1988. After practicing for 3 years in small animal and exotic pet practices in Denver, he entered the Comparative Pathology residency at the Bronx Zoo and the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan. Dr. Trupkiewicz became board certified in anatomic pathology and served as an Instructor in Comparative Pathology the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis. Since 1997, Dr. Trupkiewicz served as the Director of Pathology for the Philadelphia Zoo, until joining Northwest Zoo Path in 2004.
