I recently went to buy a car at Northside Auto. At first, I was thrilled that they were so flexible about financing and the fact that I had nothing but my old car as a down payment. Less than a month after I signed the paperwork, the timing belt just went on it. I was told by a garage it would be at least $1500 to fix. So, I brought it back to him and he said he would work with me. He told me I could pick a different car in the same price bracket (around $5500) and we'd figure something out. Every car.I test-drove had obvious problems with it (for example, an '05 Impala with 150k+ miles on it that none of the gauges worked in, the side mirror was cracked, and it had a shimmy and odd sound when I started it.) I didn't want to take a car that I honestly didn't want, so he told me he'd work with me on paying for the repair. It's now been a week, I have no car, and when I call to find out what is going on with the car, I get treated like I'm being impatient when all I really want is to know when I'll get it back. I'm supremely disappointed and nervous that I bought what appeared and initially ran like a good car and now I have no idea what I've committed myself to 4 years worth of payments on.
