Winship Middle School enrolls more than 630 students in grades six through eight. The school offers computer-based accelerated reader and math programs. Its after-school program provides academic support and enrichment opportunities for approximately 130 students each day. Winship Middle School also offers the English Language Learners program. Its parent-teacher association conducts monthly meetings and supports and sponsors a variety of school events and activities. The school s academic curriculum includes music, art, mathematics, science, social studies, language arts and physical education. It is a part of Eureka City Schools, which operates various elementary, middle and high schools. Winship Middle School is located in Eureka, Calif., and has received the California Distinguished School award.
