The Community Gardens Program is operated by the Parks and Open Space Division, which protects and conserves the habitats of rare, threatened and endangered plant species. The Parks and Open Space Division is governed by the City of Eugene. The division, also known as POS, works in partnership with the Oregon Department of Transportation. It administers the Integrated Pest Management program. The division manages and maintains various parks and gardens in the city. The Parks and Open Space Division accepts donations through the Legacy Program. The division additionally grants permits to conduct social and private gatherings in the city s parks and gardens.
