Douglas Cochrane, the company s chairman, developed the original program for use at his own fab shop, Cochrane Machine Works. He soon realized that it would be just as useful and time-saving at other shops. He enticed Gerry Cochrane, the company s president and CEO, away from running her own steel shop, Northwest Welding Specialists, and together they founded FabTrol Systems. For more than two decades, FabTrol software, now called FabTrol MRP has become one of the most popular management solutions in the steel fabrication industry.
