Independent Machine Company is a United States-based company with in-house design and build process using U.S. made materials and products. The firm has been serving the railroad industry since 1975. The steel fabrication shop located in Gladstone, Mich., specializes in pilot plows, steel gear cases, portable wheel lathes, wear plates and specialty items, including prototype work. It serves the fabrication needs of its clients and has supplied some of the Major Tier 1 railroads. Additionally, Independent Machine Company supplies almost every short-line railroad located in the United States and Canada.
